We are seeking an experienced Executive Director of Finance who can demonstrate sound financial stewardship and leadership, a focus on quality improvement, quality and safety, compassionate and inclusive behaviours and strong ability to develop effective relationships both in the organisation and across partners, regulators and external stakeholders.
You will be joining us at a challenging time financially but an exciting one too as we lead our colleagues on an improvement journey both within the Trust and as we establish One LSC, a shared service for Lancashire and South Cumbria.
This post is subject to the Fit and Proper Persons Regulations and as such is subject to an enhanced level of pre-employment checks on appointment and annually.

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust has had excellent financial stewardship which has contributed to it’s CQC rating of Good with areas of Outstanding and is now seeking to recruit a new Executive Director of Finance following the current postholders impending retirement.
We are a very large integrated care provider covering East Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen. We have 5 sites including Royal Blackburn Hospital, Burnley General Hospital, Clitheroe Community Hospital, Pendle Community Hospital and Accrington Victoria Hospital and employ over 10,200 staff including a number of hosted services. We are an active system partner, working closely with colleagues from across Lancashire and South Cumbria to deliver services in the best possible way for our population which is particularly important in the current financial landscape. We represent a hugely diverse population and this is reflected in our workforce so our commitment to becoming a truly anti-racist organisation is a high priority along with improving health equity outcomes.

Qualifications

- • Possession of CCAB Accountancy qualification
- • Evidence of continuous personal and professional development
- • Educated to Masters Level or equivalent analytical and critical thinking skills
- • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a range of improvement procedures and practices.
Experience

- • Significant experience as a Board level Finance Director in the NHS, preferably within the provider sector
- • Able to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement in the role of Finance Director • Experience of all aspects of financial management in the NHS
- • Experience of all aspects of financial management in the NHS
- • Experience of delivering large scale efficiency programmes
- • Proven ability to build relationships including key relationships with Executive and senior leaders where there may be significant resistance to change
- • Demonstrates understanding knowledge of FT/public sector governance
