Children's and Young Person's Bladder and Bowel Specialist nurse

The Children's and Young people's Bladder and Bowel Team is part of the wider East Lancashire Bladder and Bowel service. We have a vacancy for an experienced registered nurse band 6 .
We are looking for staff with - RNC, RNLD, RN8, RN5 or RN with additional qualification RHV, HV, RSN,SN, RFHN,FHN,SPCC, SPLD.
This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with children's experience in bladder and bowel care to lead the children's and young peoples' team, be involved with quality improvement work, influence policy and design and deliver education to health professionals, patients, families and carers. They will support the Clinical team leader in the day to day management and organisation of the team , ensuring that the care being delivered is person centered, safe and effective.
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
Assists in the management and organisation of the clinical area on a day-to-day basis ensuring that the care delivered is appropriate for the needs of the patient group. The Children’s Bladder and Bowel Specialist Nurse will assist the Band 7 clinical team lead in the provision of nursing expertise, advice, and support in clinical practice to the multi-disciplinary team both within the clinic and community settings.
- They will participate in their staff’s education and development under supervision of the Band 7.
- The post holder will facilitate the delivery of family centered care appropriate to the child’s needs.
- The post holder will provide specialist education, advice and support to children, their families, and carers. This will include professionals in other agencies, promoting self-management.
- The post holder will work collaboratively and co-operatively with clinical colleagues to develop services and quality of care, participating in research and audit work within the Bladder and Bowel team in line with national and local targets.

- Provide specialist, clinical knowledge of bladder and bowel issues to clinical colleagues, children, families, and carers.
- To undertake nurse-led community Bladder and Bowel clinics, and home visits.
- Oversee product provision and Bladder and Bowel assessments submitted by other health professionals to the
- Maintain clinical responsibility for patients receiving Bladder and Bowel
- Refer patients to appropriate professionals as required providing timely and accurate information when referring
- Liaise with other nursing and social care professionals, General Practitioners, and consultants, as required, when identifying the optimum course of action for Bladder and Bowel
- Act as a nurse advisor, supporting other professionals in clinical
- To assist in the planning and provision of skilled Bladder and Bowel care education and training across the Pennine Lancs health and social care
- To assist in the provision of an annual schedule of training
- To provide additional training and education events as discipline specific training needs
- To interface with public health promotion agencies to promote health in Bladder and
- To provide ad hoc education to the public and to professionals promoting the Bladder and Bowel service and best standards of

- Minimum of 12 Months Paediatric, community or Bladder and Bowel experience
- Registered Nurse – either RNC, RNLD, RN8, RN5, OR • Registered Nurse – Adult with any Children’s further qualification e.g., RHV, HV, RSN, SN, RFHN, FHN, SPC, SPCC, SPLD

- Teaching qualification or experience
- Leadership qualification or equivalent
- Safeguarding Children and Young People training level 3
Experience

- Experience of delivering health promotion and its importance in promoting healthy lifestyles
- Experience of working autonomously in a multidisciplinary context
- Experience of teaching/training others and experience of delivering health promotion

- Working within an integrated Bladder and Bowel team spanning primary and secondary care
- Experience of supporting staff in development, conducting appraisals, 1:1s, clinical supervision
- Understanding of service development, and supporting in implementing of change within services, including identifying areas that require service development
