Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Nurse Associate to join our caring and progressive team at Thanet.

You will share the CARE values of the trust and work within a close-knit group of people who bring the feeling of community to the team through their hard work and dedication to the people of the area.

You will provide full holistic assessments, and develop patient-centred care plans using the skills and knowledge you have obtained during your foundation degree study.

You will be providing individualised high-quality care to patients, so you’ll need a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working at a Senior Healthcare Assistant level. You will provide supportive leadership to Band 2 and Band 3 colleagues – helping them to develop in their roles.

Main duties of the job

As a Band 4 Nurse Associate you will work closely with all users of our services and their families, friends and carers who all play an invaluable contribution in how our users experience our services.

Band 4 Nurse Associates are expected to be kind and responsive but professional and informative and contribute to the quality of the services provided across the health economy by: Keeping the people who use our services as safe as possible through the use of sound clinical skills and effective risk assessments. Ensuring the best possible clinical outcomes by using up-to-date skills and using evidence-based policies and procedures. Ensuring the people using our services have a good experience by respecting, empowering and working in partnership with everyone involved in care planning.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered with the NMC as a Nursing Associate registrant (holds valid PIN)
Desirable criteria
  • Mentorship / Coaching qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at Nursing Associate level. Working within the NMC Code of Conduct. Experience of working as part of a team
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of community environment.

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Awareness of professional issues and recent developments in the NHS and Primary Care including Clinical Governance, NICE, Essence of Care. Knowledge of up to date clinical practice. Understands the role and remit of a Band 4 registered nursing associate role.

Skills & Abilities

Essential criteria
  • Sound communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written). Ability to organise own work. Ability to cope with change and use own initiative. IT skills. Supervision skills.

Personal Attributes

Essential criteria
  • Ability to motivate and organise others to ensure best practice. Committed to delivering high standards of care. Ability to work under pressure. Flexible and adaptable. Valid driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.

Ability to Manage

Essential criteria
  • Able to support the implementation of local and national agenda for health under the guidance of the Registered Practitioner. Ability to prioritise care delivery in a professional manner, taking into account Trust policies and procedures. Able to work an internal rotation shift pattern across a varied care setting. Ability to manage own time effectively.
