Job overview

We currently have a vacancy in the Facilities Management Transport Team for a Transport Supervisor.  We are looking for an individual with at least 5 years previous Transport/Courier driving experience and experience of supervising staff.

Main duties of the job

The Transport Supervisor will support the provision of a professional and efficient Internal Mail Delivery service collecting and delivering mail across Kent, including equipment, and other ad hoc items as and when required, maintaining the continuity of the service at all times.  The role will be responsible for the daily supervision of a team of drivers, managing rotas and workload.

A full clean driving license is essential as this role is expected to be part of the Rota, to cover for absence if required.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Professional knowledge acquired through vocational qualifications to Level 3 or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Certificate in professional competence in national road haulage

Experience

Essential criteria
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar supervisory role
Desirable criteria
  • Previous driving role experience

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of routine daily maintenance of vehicles

  • Good knowledge of Kent's road networks
