Job overview

East Kent University NHS Foundation Trust EKUFT has an exciting and challenging new role within the pharmacy department and requires an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our dynamic and lively department. The post holder will supply medications to service users across the Trust.

Dispensing duties will include dispensing in-patient and outpatient prescriptions and assisting in the sale of pharmacy medicines.  

No previous experience in Pharmacy is required as full in house training will be given.

We are looking for applicants who are eager to learn, able to organize and prioritize their own work to meet deadlines, and able to work using their own initiative. Whilst applicants should ideally have an NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services, those without will be expected to enrol and will be supported to work towards this qualification.

Main duties of the job

As a Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic, multidisciplinary team supporting the provision of the reception and dispensing services for both in-patient and out-patients within the Pharmacy Department.

You will lead in providing excellent customer service, acting as a role model to other members of the dispensary team.

You will be able to deal with enquires in an efficient, polite and courteous manner. Providing a caring and helpful service to other members of staff, patients and the general public.
