Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager for Sevenscore Ward, Thanet Mental Health Unit, QEQM, Margate.
Sevenscore ward is a 13 bed acute assessment unit providing mental health care for male older adults with acute functional or organic mental health needs.
Our aim is to deliver evidence based nursing care ensuring people are treated with kindness, dignity and respect by providing a caring, responsive, effective, well led and safe environment. You will have a passion for working with people who have complex health problems in the context of also living with a dementia and/or functional mental illness.
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and person centred ward manager to maintain the high quality care delivery. that Sevenscore ward already provides. It is essential that you are a registered nurse and that you have the relevant leadership experience.

Main duties of the job
- To provide accurate, timely reports and discharge
- To deal with e-mail correspondence in a timely
- To monitor the record keeping of junior / non-qualified staff and students where appropriate
- To link with special interest groups both internal and external to the Trust to share good practice
- To act as a representative of the service as
- Take account of cultural issues in communication with everyone, including work
- Understand what translation and advocacy services are available and follow correct
- Ensures that the electronic Health and Social Care Records of self, of Deputy Ward Manager, and of junior colleagues are up to date, accurate and consistent with Trust
- Establish and maintain accurate, complete and up to date care plans in Line with Trust policies and
- Effectively use Trust electronic tools and IT
- Implement strategies which facilitate adherence to treatment including negotiation skills, early warning signs monitoring and psycho-education, and motivational interviewing skills
