Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Domestic Supervisor.  You will take on the rewarding role of supporting the management team within the Facilities Department.  

The post holder will assist in the day to day organisation and supervision of the Domestic Services, the main purpose is to ensure safe, effective and compliant cleaning services are delivered and maintained. 

Main duties of the job

In this busy role you must be able to exercise effective leadership skills in managing performance and directing the FM cleaning services team.  You will be required to communicate with ward and departmental managers and will be responsible for monitoring quality standards, compliance and take or facilitate appropriate action as required.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience, be able to plan in advance and be well organised, they must also be dynamic, reliable and hardworking with enhanced communication skills at all levels.

Experience in I.T skills are essential to this role.

The post holder will be required to be flexible with regards to shifts including working evening, weekend, bank holidays and occasional night shift according to service requirement.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience in a supervisory role
  • Good General education including English and Maths
Desirable criteria
  • Accredited to a relevant professional body such as British Institute of Cleaning Sciences (BICS)

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of managing services and staff
  • Knowledge of cleaning standards and services
  • Experience of managing large staff groups
Desirable criteria
  • Previous NHS experience or other public sector organisation.

Skills

  • PC literate–working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
  • Good written and oral skills
