Central Operations Assistant System Administrator

You will be the focal point for and work closely with the TeleTracking (patient flow) and Luscii (virtual ward) IT infrastructure, ensuring that IT systems related to the delivery of ‘Patient Flow’ operate securely, efficiently and effectively.

The Assistant System Administrator role is responsible for undertaking a wide range of IT systems management duties in support of the interoperability of systems across the Trust.  They will, as directed by the Central Operations System Manager, play their part in ensuring that the data recorded across the clinical systems is as far as possible uniformly consistent.

You, in conjunction with the System Manager, is responsible for carrying out any necessary IT audits as required by the Director of Operations for Patient Access, for the provision of information and data to support the delivery of the service also any IG requirements, working to support local training as and when required, in the absence of the training lead.

  • To cooperate with practices and, where practicable, standardise the IT management processes across the system.
  • To provide advice and answer IT related queries in relation to TeleTracking users across the Trust and wider system and from Virtual ward staff working in the Virtual Ward Hub.
  • To maintain up-to-date knowledge of the main IT systems and software programmes used within the Trust by attendance at related training courses.
  • To identify and be proactive in identifying IT training needs of staff within the Trust, and support with the delivery of this as agreed with the System Manager.
  • To support in the delivery of enhanced services and other service requirements on behalf of the Virtual Ward programme and TeleTracking.
  • Contribute to the development of the strategic objectives of the Trust, providing specialist IT knowledge.
  • Support virtual and remote models of care and virtual group consultations.
  • Proactively researching advances in digital technology to support the ambition in the long-term plan of a Digital First vision for the Trust and advising the System Manager of potential opportunities.

  • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support
  • IT Infrastructure Library - Foundation
  • Demonstrable Continued Professional Development

  • Member of a Professional Body, eg BCS
  • MCSE/MCSA

Knowledge

  • If no qualifications, at least 3 years’ experience working in a comparable technical role is required
  • Demonstrable and extensive experience and knowledge of end user device architecture
  • Ability to rapidly diagnose and fix incidents and problems remotely either by telephone or using a designated tool
  • Experience of working in a Microsoft Active Directory environment
