Are you an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified Cardiac Physiologist keen to join an innovative team of Cardiac Physiologists and other Health Care Professionals?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Cardiac Physiologist at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.  The post is within the Cardiology department to consolidate learning from PTP and support the team as an independent practitioner. Support and training to achieve the competencies required of a band 6 role will be given. 

Main duties of the job

The Trust offers a range of invasive and non-invasive investigations including Physiologist led exercise stress testing, tilt testing, ambulatory monitoring, device follow-up and complex invasive procedures including angiography, PCI, PPM, ICD / CRT implantation and EP. The Tunbridge Wells Hospital site holds BSE Departmental Accreditation in Transthoracic echocardiography, Stress Echo, TOE, Contrast and Bubble Studies. We run a Physiologist Led Valve Clinic at both sites and assist in the Rapid Access Heart Failure Clinic. The Maidstone site is currently in the process of applying for accreditation. We also run a physiologist lead ILR implant service.

Essential criteria
  • BSc (hons) healthcare science (Cardiac)
Desirable criteria
  • ILS

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of all cardiac procedures and techniques even if not yet performing some of the more complex procedures.
  • Able to perform a wide range of non-invasive cardiac diagnostics with minimal / no supervision
Desirable criteria
  • An understanding of audit procedures.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Teaching skills.
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to work at all 3 sites
  • Ability to work shifts including weekends
