Our Social Workers have a significant set of skills and breadth of experience which contributes to an encouraging and reflective working environment. We are a supportive team and a part of this includes developing student placements. Our placements provide an opportunity for students to experience a comprehensive range of social work tasks that the successful candidate will help deliver. Main duties of the job
We are in a position to extend an invitation to suitable candidates to work in our Forensic Inpatient Social Work Team. You will be an experienced Social Worker and registered with Social Work England. You will be self-motivated and able to manage a high level of autonomy.
Some experience of Forensic Social Work will be helpful to you but we are interested in people with a clear commitment to person-centred social work. You will have a good knowledge of the Care Act 2014, the Mental Health Act 1983 and other related legislation. We will expect you to have had experience of Adult Safeguarding work and work with people who lack Capacity. You will also understand the Care Programme Approach framework.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will be supported to manage an agreed caseload of highly complex forensic work. You will assist our inpatients to maintain links with their local community, and their families where appropriate. You will liaise closely with community teams and other agencies and support the Medium Secure Services' own MDT. You may be expected to undertake some travel in relation to your duties.
Newly qualified may apply but will need to go through their ASYE at Band 5, once completed they will go to Band 6 thereafter.
