NHS AfC: Band 5

Job overview

Are you keen to work in the community in a dietetic career full of excitement and variety?

Do you want to live in an area with great connections to London and Europe?

Do you want to work in a team who will support your development and career aspirations?

Is flexible working that meets work/ life balance important to you?

We are the team for you! We have an exciting opportunity for three motivated, enthusiastic, newly qualified or current band 5 dietitians to come and work with our innovative and friendly Dietetic Teams.  We have two roles available in our Community Dietetic team and one role available in our adult Home Enteral Nutrition Team.

Our adult and paediatric dietetics teams form the largest in the South East.  We work alongside our specialist community Dietetics colleagues in Oncology, Gastroenterology, Diabetes, Paediatrics and HEN Teams within Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics – all working in community settings in the beautiful South Eastern coastal County of Kent.

CQC have rated our trust as ‘Outstanding’.  Their report stated “We found a healthy and authentic culture of valuing staff, openness, fairness and putting the patient at the heart of every policy, strategy and service delivered. Staff consistently told us they felt valued by their leaders and the organisation. Staff shared a great sense of pride in working for the trust”

We offer flexible working opportunities to achieve the best work/life balance possible and a hybrid of base and home working.

Main duties of the job

These exciting roles will be for three dietitians in the early stage of their career to support adults with common nutritional conditions including malnutrition, diabetes, obesity, IBS and coeliac disease and in the third role to support adults who receive enteral tube feeding at home.

You will be fully supported, clinically supervised and integrated into the team where you will complete a preceptorship training programme led by experienced and enthusiastic dietitians.

Our team includes supervision and support from our highly specialist dietitians.  You will be supported to develop your knowledge and skills across a wide variety of clinical conditions.  You will also have access to dietitians in the wider department who specialise in a number of areas including gastroenterology, diabetes and obesity, and neurology.

Our teams are supported by dietetic assistant practitioners and HEN Nurses and we are also supporting training for dietetic apprenticeships and dietetic students.

Your opinions and input will be welcomed and valued and you will have access to clinical supervision and in-house training and other CPD opportunities internally and externally to support your development.
