Job overview

We are recruiting for an Educational Specialist to work in our Community Paediatrics team.

Your role will be to support the best possible outcome for children and young people with special educations needs and disability (SEND) – in particular neurodiversity - by working in partnership with 
other professionals within the Community Paediatric services, as part of the multidisciplinary neurodevelopmental (ND) team.

The Community Paediatrics service strives to provide high quality, evidence based, flexible and integrated services to children and young people with developmental and/or complex health needs and their families.

Main duties of the job

As an Educational Specialist you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate holistic care in relation to care planning/pathways.

You will make recommendations to decision makers in order to drive forward innovative solutions to achieve business objectives, service improvement strategies and financial efficiencies linked to packages of prescribed care or identified projects.

In addition, you will actively work as a member of the integrated team to ensure high quality care is provided to service users.

Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Education Qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of Post Graduate Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice for example PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in area of practice
Desirable criteria
  • Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Proven ability to develop effective partnerships to achieve practical outcomes across organisational boundaries including statutory organisations, external agencies, community and voluntary organisations
Desirable criteria
  • Able to support the implementation of local and national agenda’s for health under the guidance of the senior Practitioner
