We are looking for a motivated individual who can work in our busy Rheumatology Department. The job is based at Medway Maritime Hospital and involves 4 clinics per week, in addition to, in reach referrals at Medway Maritime Hospital supported by Rheumatology consultants. The post holder will be expected to support our specialist nurses, answer calls received from GPs and patients within the locality and with the support of consultants where required.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Provide specialist Rheumatology care and management of patients in Rheumatology.   Assess, plan and deliver care plans for patients. Perform clinical assessment, diagnoses and treatments with guidance from senior clinicians. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care.  Respond to emergencies and participate in on-call duties as required.  Ensure all patient records are accurate and up to date.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Primary Medical Degree
  • Full Registration with GMC
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • MRCP
  • ALS

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience in a range of medical specialities
  • Experience of managing patients on unselected take during foundation or core medical training or equivalent
  • Experience of core medical practical procedures

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Management of common medical emergencies
  • Assessment of patients with common medical presentations

Value Based Question

Essential criteria
  • Give an example of a time where you have demonstrated a ‘can do’ attitude (including the situation you were in) and the outcome

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of one year’s full time hospital service in CT-equivalent or higher grades since first obtaining full or limited registration or equivalent, with at least 3 months in gernal medicine setting
  • Experience in teaching

  • Experience with simulation training
  • UK Rheumatology Experience
