The shift pattern is Mon/Tues 8-12 and Thurs/Fri 1-5
We are recruiting for an Patient Service Advisor who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.
Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will be expected to act as the first point of contact for our patients and relatives, dealing with enquiries over the telephone and face to face.
As a Patient Service Advisor you will be able to multi task during busy periods is essential, as is a friendly and helpful nature with the ability to adhere to Trust's strict confidentiality guidelines.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Ensure that all relevant case notes are available at the start of the clinic
Book in Patients for clinics held in allocated work area for each shift.
Confirm with Patient and update demographic information on relevant booking in system
Answer enquiries from either members of the public or staff, whether by telephone or in person
For outpatient clinics, update PAS system with RTT outcome and procedure codes for each patient
Book interpreters as required following Trust process
Make follow up appointments as required
To provide cover during periods of absence

Qualification
Essential criteria
- Good general education 5 GCSE A-C grades or equivalent, including Maths and English
Knowledge

- Providing a quality service to support excellent patient care and experience
Skills

- Proven Customer Care skills
- Computer literate, in particular use of MS windows and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal skills

- Experience of working within an acute hospital environment is desirable, but not essential
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
