 We are recruiting for a Facilities Team Leader who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

To Lead the day-to-day operational services of the Medway NHS Foundation Trusts Waste & Transport Departments. The post holder will be designated an area/areas of main management responsibility, but will be required to maintain operational knowledge of all the services detailed below so that to ensure smooth transitions between Services, and to provide cover during leave and absenteeism.

 

The Facilities Team Leader will be the first point of contact which will require high visibility to all users of the services and the staff/teams that they lead. 

Main duties of the job

High level of IT skill is required on programs such as Excel, Microsoft 11, Word.

Excellent written communication skills including the ability to produce reports, databases, spreadsheets.

Strong communication skills including the ability to relate and communicate with patients and staff at all levels and from different professions.

Appropriate assertiveness skills, proven negotiation skills and an ability to formulate and verbalise views.

A strong sense of personal and team accountability with an understanding of the boundaries around delegated authority.

Ability to manage deadlines within available resources.

Ability to adapt to challenging and changing solutions, and able to lead colleagues through stressful situations.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Your primary responsibility/duty is to lead all aspects of the daily operations of the area/areas of main management responsibility, by providing an excellent customer focused service, ensuring that all Department tasks/duties are completed in a professional and timely fashion.

To be responsible for the management, supervision and administration of the post holders designated area/areas of responsibility to include but not exclusive: appraisals, attendance, booking of bank staff, sickness / absence records through the use of the Trust databases, and arranging bespoke and or manadatory training.

The Facilities Team Leader will be required to delegate tasks as necessary through out departments, services and teams, whilst utilising good leadership and problem solving skills, ensuring that they actively pursue and reinforce the Trust’s policies in relation to Equal Opportunities and diversity legislation.

To manage and maintain adequate staffing levels by co-ordinating and producing all staff duties/rosters, ensuring that any staff absence is covered.

  • NVQ 3 or Equivalent working experience
  • At least 3 years of Management experience
  • IT Experience in Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Full Driving Licence

  • Knowledge of Waste segregation
