We are recruiting for a Cardiac Practitioner who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Cross site working to provide an ECG service to both in and out patients and to undertake the connection, removal and analysis of Ambulatory ECG’s, Event recorders and 24 hour Blood Pressure monitors. To support the supervising physiologist in Exercise tests and Tilt tests. To learn to take the lead in ETTs and Tilts Table Tests.

There will be a requirement to work at the acute site at Medway Maritime Hospital and at the CDCs in Rochester and Sheppey.

Main duties of the job

To be responsible for the organising and prioritising of the in-patient resting ECG and ambulatory ECG service to ensure timely delivery

Undertake ambulatory ECG fitting and downloading. Analyse the recording to produce an accurate report.

Undertake ECG recordings, interpreting results and advising medical and nursing staff of any abnormalities requiring urgent attention.

Undertake ambulatory blood pressure monitor fitting and downloading, ensure that results are dealt with appropriately, as per procedure.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Assist as second person during exercise tests, ensuring the patient’s safety as per the procedure. To train to lead ETTs.

Assist as second person during Tilt tests, ensuring patient’s safety as per procedure. To train to lead Tilt table tests.

Take the lead for ECG training provision to junior staff, students and the wider trust.

To chase the return of ambulatory ECG and BP monitors when patients do not return the equipment at the scheduled time. To escalate to the Principal Physiologist if unable to resolve the return of the devices

To organise the maintenance and repair of all equipment related to ECG, holter monitoring, Tilt Table Tests and ETTs.
