It is important to us that all our staff are aligned to our Values and in particular the behaviours we expect from KCHFT managers. With this in mind as part of the selection process for this position you will be asked to complete two other activities in addition to the competency-based interview that you will invited to. This extended selection process is designed to assess your management style and the specific details of the exercises will be given if you are successfully shortlisted. The provisional date of the selection event is 6th December 2024, although this may be subject to change.

- MPharm in Pharmacy, GPHC registration, Post graduate clinical pharmacy qualification (diploma level) or equivalent, Independent Prescribing qualification

Essential criteria
- Extensive post registration clinical experience and knowledge in an Acute Hospital setting, Understanding of practical medicines management issues in community based services, Clinical experience in Frailty, Experience of leading teams, Experience in education and training of healthcare professionals, social care staff and patient groups , Audit and project management experience, Experience of managing change
Desirable criteria
- Experience of whole system working and collaboration Experience in End of Life Care and other chronic conditions
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Expertise on legal and ethical pharmaceutical issues in all areas relating to community health services Clinical Knowledge of medicines in Frailty Experience and knowledge of the Supply, Distribution, Storage and Administration of Pharmaceuticals in Hospital settings Knowledge of risk management and assurance issues relating to all aspects of medicines use Knowledge of other professions and their registering bodies e.g. Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Knowledge of the NHS priorities and plans Understanding of Government Policy and vision for the development of Prescribing and Pharmacy Services. Knowledge of storage, use and disposal of pharmaceutical products with due regard to local and national policies. Understanding all aspects of Medicines Optimisation and how they relate to the Community Health settings Specialist knowledge of Medicines Act, Home Office Controlled Drugs regulations, Data Protection Act, Environmental Act and COSHH regulations as applicable to Community Health settings Knowledge and ability to use supporting technical equipment e.g. answer phone system, smartphone/tablet, laptops Practical knowledge and experience in Microsoft Windows/Office products

- Clinical knowledge of medicines in End of Life and other chronic diseases Knowledge of systems and ability to extract and interpret data such as Refine/Define, Epact2 and Datix

Computer literate in word processing skills, spread-sheet skills, Power Point, e-mail and internet systems. The ability to train and coach other pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals in specific tasks related to the service provided to community hospitals
