Are you a passionate mental health professional seeking a dynamic and rewarding career?

We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our established Dartford Home Treatment team in North Kent. This is an exciting time to join our team as recent investments and changes to the community mental health framework are creating more opportunities for dedicated work within the CRHTT service.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide 24/7 assessment and treatment to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis in the community.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver effective interventions.
  • Develop your intervention and assessment skills through ongoing support, supervision, and training opportunities.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a registered mental health Nurse with relevant experience.
  • Possesses a passion for mental health and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
  • Is motivated, energetic, and innovative with a desire to develop their skills.

In this role, you will play a vital role in assessing patients' mental health needs, determining appropriate support levels, and ensuring their well-being within a legal framework.

What you'll do:

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify needs and risks.
  • Manage potential risks associated with patients' conditions.
  • Assess patients' capacity to consent to treatment options.
  • Ensure all actions adhere to relevant mental health legislation and regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with patients, carers, and a multi-disciplinary team to develop and implement patient-cantered care plans.
  • Participate in physical intervention training, if required, to support team safety.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with diverse mental health conditions.
  • Is competent in community-based mental health care.
  • Possesses strong assessment and risk management skills.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient-centered care and collaborative working.
  • Is flexible and able to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

What is High Cost Area Allowance?

 The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.

As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.

  • 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly)

The salary listed is inclusive of the High-Cost Area Allowance.

  • Working with service users referred to Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Service.
  • You will be working across two functions-Rapid Response and Home Treatment Team providing assessments and interventions until the crisis is resolved.
  • To contribute to the planning and implementation of induction, training and education of students and staff. You will receive protected time to ensure your training is up to date and opportunities to further develop your career.
  • To fulfil the role of mentor/practice educator, maintaining own update training and ensuring responsibility for regular placement provision and ensuring supervision and written assessment of students whilst on placement.
  • To assist the band 7 senior practitioner by identifying personal and professional training needs in order to appropriately plan for future training and development.
  • To provide effective supervision, support, and guidance for support /STR/ peer workers and any work delegated to them.
  • As taking patients off the Ward for home visits and community access visits is essential to the role, you will need to be a car driver, unless you are covered by the Equality Act, whereby the Trust has a duty to make practical adjustments.

The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
