Job overview
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for an Administration Assistant to join the Mental Health Act based in Little Brook Hospital, Dartford.
Whilst the post is based within the MHA team at Dartford, the post holder will be covering work for all three Mental Health Teams, in Dartford, Canterbury, and Maidstone.
The role includes all areas of administration such as filing, uploading, photocopying, and assisting the Mental Health Co-ordinators and the Head of Service of the Mental Health Act teams.

Main duties of the job
- Uploading of documents in accordance with Mental Health data sets.
- Providing reassurance in terms of Medical MHA scrutiny
- Organising across all three areas, checklists and spreadsheets as required.
- Photocopying of reports
- Answering the telephone and assisting panel members on days of patient reviews.
- Auditing ward reviews across all three areas
- Inputting on e-med system as directed by the Mental Health Act Co-ordinator

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To make room bookings for meetings to take place (virtual and in person).
- Work on own initiative to prioritise administrative procedures to meet the requirements of the department, and to work efficiently as part of a team.
- The post holder will be required to undertake training and attend regular updates to achieve a working knowledge of the Act in order to carry out procedures with understanding and to provide basic advice to staff and clients when the Mental Health Administrators are absent.

What is High Cost Area Allowance?
The High-Cost Area (HCA) allowance, also referred to as London Weighting is a payment made to employees who work in London and the surrounding areas.
As this post is based in Dartford, Gravesham or Swanley, the successful applicant will receive an additional payment each month.
5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 per year and a maximum payment of £2,011 per year (the agreed annual amount will be divided into 12 equal amounts and paid monthly)
