Applications are invited for the position of Trust Grade doctor in Trauma and Orthopaedics based at Darent Valley Hospital. The Trauma and Orthopaedic department at Darent Valley Hospital offers a comprehensive service to patients in Dartford (Kent border of London) and the surrounding areas, covering the full spectrum of elective and trauma Orthopaedic Surgery, with the exception of Spinal Surgery.
Main duties of the job
This post is one of eight foundation Year 2/ST1/Trust Grades’ working in Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust Orthopaedic Directorate at Darent Valley Hospital, Dartford. Clinical requirement.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The clinical commitments required of the appointee will be as detailed in the weekly programme of duties though service needs may require alteration of the timetable without notice. The appointee
will be required to visit any patient in any establishment forming part of the Trust at the request of the consultant and will take part in internal cover arrangements during the absence of colleagues on annual leave or study leave

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBBS, MRCS, FRCS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Research degree / MBA
GMC registration
Essential criteria
- Must have full GMC registration
Training and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in Trauma & Orthopaedics
Desirable criteria
- Completion of FY1/FY2 training programme or equivalent
Audit
Essential criteria
- Understanding of principles of audit, evidence of previous audit
Administration
Essential criteria
- Experience in working in Surgical Unit or Centre
Desirable criteria
- Familiar with NHs structure and new directives/targets
Peronal and profesional skills

- Team player / Good communicator
- Professional attitude, appearance and good record of attendance
- Committed to training of junior doctors
