We have an exciting for a suitable candidate to join our outpatient MSK team including hand therapy and hydrotherapy..

The post holder will undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients working within the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Service. The areas of work will be the Outpatients Department and may include working in:

·         Hydrotherapy

·         Hand Therapy

·         Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Out Patients

 They will treat patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring patient progress, making minor alterations to patient treatment programmes as required and reporting back to the Physiotherapist / Occupational Therapist regarding patient progress and any problems

All relevant training will be provided to understand how to assess a patient, how to prescribe exercises, how to issue equipment and how to document notes.

There will be opportunity for inpatient orthopaedic weekend work on a voluntary basis. However, the job description now includes a 7 day working note as the service may be consulted on to cover weekends as part of its remit.

Essential experience required:

You will have good written and spoken English and experience working with the general public.

You also should have some experience working with individuals with a disability. Previous experience working in the NHS would be helpful.

You will be able to demonstrate good communication skills and be able to prioritise your work.

Computer skills are essential - training in local systems will be provided.

Informal visits will be available to shortlisted candidates only.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
