Job overview

This Post is to support and maintain the NKPS Haematology Services across both acute Trusts Medway and Dartford & Gravesham. This will include participation in training and service development, the support and monitoring of KPIs specific to the delivery of quality practices and service across NKPS aligned to Haematology functions. Trouble-shooting and evaluation of service pathways and functions, Haematology stock management, administrative tasks including audits, documentation, analysis of internal and external sample referral and research projects. The post holder will enable teaching and training for all  Haematology bands and  facilitate Trust staff with sample types for specific tests

Main duties of the job

Supporting the management of 24/7 Haematology Service provision. 

The implementation, use, training and administration of all Haematology Functions across both Medway and Dartford Trusts and NKPS CSR Hub and Spoke arrangements. This is  including partaking in the creation of user requirement specifications specific to user requirements, for sample types and collection methods,  assessing continual Haematology performance aligned to KPIs for ED and Acute service users as well as community and research / referral pathways and service provision

Essential criteria
  • More than 2 years laboratory experience
  • Evidence of participation in Quality Management
  • Evidence of delivering training
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with the ANNB screening programme
