Job overview

To provide a prompt and professional health records and reception service to patients attending Crowborough Outpatients Department in line with office procedures, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of the outpatient department. 

To provide a courteous reception service to patients in line with office procedures, contributing to the overall efficient and effective running of the outpatient department including effective health records management of patient notes. 

Working hours will be 15 hours per week - pattern to be agreed working between Monday and Thursday

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will require: 


•    High level literacy and numeric skills
•    Experience in scanning desirable but not essential
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Excellent keyboard skills
•    Good knowledge and understanding of the General Data Protection Act
•    Exceptional interpersonal skills
•    Good customer care skills
•    Working to tight deadlines
•    Experience of office work
•    Ability to work under pressure


The work can require manual handling duties (lifting boxes up to 9kg) and be mentally demanding.

Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of general education to GCSE Standard, English & Maths or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Qualification at NVQ Level 2 customer services or administration, or equivalent experience

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience in record keeping / data entry
  • Able to work as part of a team or own initiative
  • Knowledge of Data Protection Act 2018
Desirable criteria
  • Reception experience
  • NHS administration experience
  • Knowledge of range of patient administration system and healthcare records procedures, acquired through experience
