An exciting opportunity has arisen for a AMD Admin Assistant for the AMD service within the Ophthalmology Department based at Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
Main duties of the job
Provide comprehensive administrative, clerical support to AMD consultants and their teams.
Working in a specialised Ophthalmology clinic providing support for each other and ensuring continuity of the service.
Action all enquiries, effectively, and respond and escalate where appropriate.
Working on Reception greeting patients and directing them to the correct clinical area, this also involves checking them into the clinic, outcoming their appointment and booking further follow up appointments if required.

- General understanding of office practices and administration
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in working in an administrative role

- Ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate and liaise with a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge or experience of a range of work procedures in an office environment, or a keen willingness to learn

- Previous NHS experience
- Knowledge of NHS systems
