This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team of 11 practitioners and project support officers delivering improvement projects, training and coaching Trustwide.
The junior improvement practitioner will be involved in working with a diverse range of frontline and corporate teams and individuals, empowering and enabling them to improve services for patients and colleagues and to embed a culture of continuous improvement.
The post holder must be a self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude and hands on approach, and will be expected to lead and support improvement projects.
Our team works together to support each other to deliver real improvement through the rollout and sustainability of our Trust agreed improvement methodology using a variety of lean based tools and processes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be a core member of the Improvement and Transformation team and will be responsible for working closely with clinical and operational leaders at all levels to drive sustainable continuous improvement throughout the organisation
The post holder will work with Trust teams to provide training, coaching and support to Trust staff that will be leading and participating in We Care.
Key activities of the role will be:
· Supporting teams Trustwide (wards and departments) to identify and analyse problem areas
- Leading training sessions on the use of process improvement tools.
- Facilitating team decisions, resolving team conflict and assisting in the development of implementation plans.
- Coaching to drive and embed a culture of continuous improvement,
- Contribute to the planning for training and improvement events

- Previous experience in using quality improvement tools and approaches
- Effective communication skills including the ability to deliver high quality presentations/training sessions and liaise effectively with staff at all levels
Desirable criteria
- Training in Quality Improvement
- Previous experience with Lean
Skills and experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of prioritising, planning and organising activities in multiple work streams in a demanding time bound environment
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in service improvement and change management with application of knowledge.
