Lord North ward is an 18 bedded haematology inpatient ward delivering excellent care to patients with haematological conditions and require treatment and support through their cancer journey. The ward works along side Chartwell Suite, Haematology day unit where patients receive chemotherapy and supportive therapies.
This post will be a rotational post between both units, working a combination of long days, nights and weekends.
Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic and pro-active. The post holder will work as part of the nursing team in supporting the ward manager to run an effective and safe ward. Lord North and chartwell treat patients throughout their treatment pathway providing individualised, compassionate and informed care.

You should be able to combine autonomy with team working sensitivity and professionalism.
You will be expected to adopt a holistic, pro-active and dynamic approach, being responsible for the delivery of a high standard of care and service to the patients. You will in association with your colleagues be required to support patients and their carers on all aspects of their care, be they newly diagnosed, or being treated with palliative intent.

Once your pre-employment checks have been completed you will be contacted by Recruitment to arrange your start date which will be in line with one of our Corporate Inductions. Following your Corporate Induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email [email protected] if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning. |

- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a newly qualified nurse.

- Understanding of NMC Code and requirements of it for own practice and behaviour.
