We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Lead Dementia Nurse to join our professional team.

Main duties of the job
You will provide Kent wide professional leadership, clinical expertise and strategic direction and guidance for achieving excellence in practice whilst supporting the Head of Service in the delivery of the Dementia/Delirium and cognitive impairment service across Kent.
The post holder will work collaboratively with all stake holders to meet the changing need of the Dementia/Delirium services across whole health economy in line with the trust strategic vision.

It is important to us that all our staff are aligned to our Values and in particular the behaviours we expect from KCHFT managers. With this in mind as part of the selection process for this position you will be asked to complete two other activities in addition to the competency-based interview that you will invited to. This extended selection process is designed to assess your management style and the specific details of the exercises will be given if you are successfully shortlisted. Essential criteria
- Registered Adult Nurse Current NMC Registration Specialist dementia Qualification Formal Teaching and Mentorship Qualification Relevant First Degree Evidence of Masters Level Study
Desirable criteria
- MSc qualification Independent Nurse Prescriber Health Assessment and Clinical Examination Course
Experience
Essential criteria
- 5 years specialist dementia experience spent at senior practitioner level Leading and developing practice using innovative approaches to service organisation and development Working with complexity across organisational and professional boundaries Initiating and leading change across professions and agencies Audit and Research Experience Project Management Public Speaking
Desirable criteria
- Research Experience Experience working in Community Services
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Highly developed specialist knowledge across a range of issues in relation to dementia practice, leadership, research and education Excellent knowledge of national and local targets related to dementia services In depth knowledge of national and international guidance in relation to dementia conditions Evidence of continual professional development Demonstrates awareness of commissioning dementia services across whole systems approach
