Job overview

Urgent, Emergency and Acute Medicine are looking to appoint a Admin Manager who is an enthusiastic and committed individual to assist the Deputy Operations Manager in being responsible for the day to day provision of an effective and efficient Admin function within UEAM this includes the Emergency Department, Urgent Treatment Centre and Acute Medical Unit based at the William. Harvey Hospital

This key role will be responsible for the delivery of an innovative, professional, high quality and efficient administrative service, through leading the day to day operations of the reception teams, co-ordinating and distributing work, whilst ensuring motivation and performance levels are maintained.

Main duties of the job

This role will be responsible for the day to day management of Admin staff within theUEAM Care group. 

The successful candidate will be well organised and able to prioritise work. This role will manage multiple admin teams. The post holder will be expected to manage and devise rotas or systems to ensure competing workload demands and short-notice periods of leave are adequately and equitably met.

As part of this role, you will be required to support the Deputy Operations Manager to review, develop and implement processes and systems. Excellent written and communication skills together with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines are essential combined with line management responsibilities. The post holder will need to be calm, patient and possess an excellent customer service manner.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Previous experience of managing and supervising staff, or working towards this, including allocation of work, identification of training and development needs, performance and management
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to lead, motivate and involve others

  • Ability to analyse complex problems and situations and deliver pragmatic approach
  • Adept at negotiation and persuasion

Knowledge
