Healthcare Assistant (St. Helen's Ward)

-          Are you a HCA with experience or looking to develop, who has a passion for care, and a caring smile then St Helen’s is the ward for you.

-          We are a new 18 bedded emergency surgical ward, made up of 6 side rooms and 3 bays with 4 beds contained.

-          We nurse patients who are acutely unwell within a dynamic and diverse ever changing patient group, this gives us different challenges every day.

-          The action never stops on our ward as we have a quick turnover of our patient group which keeps staff up to date with all relevant evidence-based care.

-          We have achieved a gold QASS rating within a hospital setting and aim to deliver outstanding care for every patient, every time.

-          There will be opportunity to develop skills and knowledge with phlebotomy, cannulation and catheterisation, once all basic skills learned.

-          We want to attract staffs who wish to make a difference, being a small ward with the right staff the impact to the patients care and treatment will be exemplary. We want to work with a team who can innovate new ideas, and are passionate to develop staffs knowledge and skills so they can get the best from their job being satisfied and fulfilled, when they leave for the day. We are an outstanding team who work hard together to maintain the best outcomes for patients, we just need you to take our team to the next level setting us apart from the rest.

·         Assist the patient in all activities of daily living, with both direct and indirect supervision as delegated by a registered nurse.

·         Maintain patient comfort, dignity and privacy at all times.

·         Prepare patients drinks, serve meals and provide assistance as required.

·         Assist in the emergency resuscitation of patients, following appropriate training.

·         Escort patients to other areas and departments as per Trust escort protocol.

·         Maintain high standards of care in an environment which promotes equality and sensitivity for all individuals.
