An opportunity has arisen for a new Health Care Assistant to join the nursing team on Level C.

On Luccombe ward side you will be caring for patients who have sustained orthopaedic injuries and may require surgery along with a mix of other emergency patient care.  

On Alverstone ward will have the additional opportunity to care for elective orthopaedic patients that may have a planned hip or knee replacement.

This post involves shift work including days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays and may involve you working flexibly to support cover across both sides.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will provide a comprehensive service to the Trust with a focus to facilitate effective and timely collection of patient’s vital signs and bed side investigations. Assisting the Registered Nursing and Medical teams by using key skills, to acquire the data to allow diagnosis and treatment. The post holder is required to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team internal and external to the organisation, working under the direction of the Registered Nursing team and department Sister/Charge nurse to ensure efficient delivery of patient care.
