Job overview

We are recruiting for a Bank Paramedic who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. 

To deliver high quality, patient centred care.

To ensure that relationships and own behaviour is managed in line with Trust and service competencies.

Main duties of the job

  • To respond using advanced emergency driving skills and manage emergency calls / incidents as allocated by the Integrated Care Hub, including emergencies, urgent calls, routine transfers, mainland transfers and other operational details commensurate with their role and responsibilities.
  • Work either as part of ambulance crew or as a solo responder.
  • At all times provide specialist, clinical, social and holistic care to patients in a pre-hospital environment.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Formulation and delivery of critical care plans and treatment for patients in accordance with agreed guidelines, Trust / Service Policy, Procedures and current legislation, Health & Care Professions Council including Joint Royal Colleges Ambulance Liaison Committee (JRCALC), College of Paramedics (CoP) and National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE) as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate a continued commitment to professional development.
  • Lifting, carrying and moving of patients and / or equipment.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Current HCPC Registered Paramedic
Desirable criteria
  • C1 Driving Licence
  • D1 & D2 (Blue Light) driving qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of delivering high quality patient-centred care in a pre-hospital environment

Physical Skills

Essential criteria
  • Physically capable of performing the role and responsibilities expected of the post holder e.g. Manual Handling and Lifting
