Job overview
We are recruiting for a Enhanced Recovery Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients
You will work closely with the Orthopaedic team to develop the Enhanced Recovery Programme for elective Orthopaedic surgery to include Hips, Knees, Shoulders and Spine surgery. manage the care of the patients on the Enhanced Recovery Programme in Orthopaedics at East and North Herts NHS Trust
You will manage the care of the patients on the Enhanced Recovery Programme in Orthopaedics at East and North Herts NHS Trust to develop training programmes for Ward Staff and other disciplines in the Enhanced Recovery Programme

Main duties of the job
To develop training programmes for Ward Staff and other disciplines in the Enhanced Recovery Programme.
Participate in the training/schooling of patients on the Enhanced Recovery Pathway
Collect data and complete some analysis for the surveillance programme relating to Enhanced Recovery
Assist in the collection and management of the mandatory national data collection and reporting such as the PROM’s programme and the National Joint Registry
Provide consistent post discharge telephone support for patients on the enhanced recovery programme
Be an active lead in ensuring the length of stay and re-admission rates of patients on the Enhanced Recovery programme is consistently low against national benchmarks.

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
- 1 ST Level RGN
- Mentorship & Preceptorship or ENB 998 or equivalent. Proven track record of supervising and teaching staff members.
- Degree in Nursing or equivalent/ or working towards
- Orthopaedic qualification or equivalent
- Good written and spoken English
- IT Skills
- Evidence of continued Professional Development
Desirable criteria
- Independent Nurse Prescriber
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Sufficient Senior Nurse experience in orthopaedic nursing.
- Experience of presenting to large groups of people
- Experience of research and implementation of new practices
- Experience of developing and writing Policies and Integrated Care Pathways
Desirable criteria
- Experience of counselling
- Experience of Nurse/ MDT Led clinics
- Nurse/ MDT led Discharges
- Nurse/ MDT led Discharges
