Job overview
We are recruiting for a Gynaecology Practice Nurse who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
We have expanded our Outpatient Gynaecology Services at the East and North Herts NHS Trust and we are looking to recruit another Gynaecology Nurse Practitioners to join our team.

Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Gynaecology Nurse Practitioner team to support Gynaecology Outpatient Services ensuring the delivery of high quality and safe care to women attending the Early Pregnancy and Emergency Gynaecology Units as well as offering specialist inpatient support to Gynaecology patients receiving care in the ward setting.
To work autonomously to provide and implement care for women in accordance with agreed policies and guidelines.
The post holder will:
Provide a holistic assessment of women attending the Gynaecology Outpatient Services.
Take responsibility for making differential diagnosis within level of competence. Plan and provide specialist treatment in collaboration with others as appropriate
Provide specialist advice and information to women and their families as well as to junior members of the nursing and medical staff.
Provide specialist support for women requiring admission to an inpatient setting.
Take a key role in developing the Gynaecology Specialist Nursing service with the support of the Lead Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists and the Clinical Service Manager and the Matron for Gynaecology.

Qualifications/Training
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse/Midwife
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Willingness to undertake a recognised course of study.
Desirable criteria
- Qualification in Early Pregnancy /Pelvic Ultrasound
- Non Medical Prescriber
- Qualification in Gynaecology / Women’s Health
- Qualification in Urodynamics
- Trained in Vaginal Pessary Management
Previous Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience nursing patients within Gynaecology/Urology/ Midwifery
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of Continuous Learning and Personal Development
