Job overview

We are recruiting for an Events Coordinator - Fundraising  who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You will deliver and manage our portfolio of events including mass participation, challenges, NHS Trust and community partnership events, to support Lister Hospital, Hertford County Hospital, New QEII and Mount Vernon Cancer Centre . You will deliver, grow and establish an annual events plan to securing income which enables the Charity to provide projects and equipment which are above and beyond the remit of the NHS and enhance patient experience.

Main duties of the job

Meet or exceed a personal annual fundraising target for our events &  be a proactive & positive member of the wider team in order that the Charity reaches or exceeds its annual income target

Manage the income & expenditure budget for all of our events and strive to achieve our charity benchmark of 1:4 (cost:income) return on investment ratio

Lead & manage the charity’s portfolio of ‘owned’ events which include the Lister Abseil challenge, Rainbow Run, Moor Park 10k and Firewalk

Recruit supporters for our challenge events which include a skydive, wingwalk, royal parks half marathon, virtual London marathon &  provide excellent donor care & stewardship to maximise funds raised. To create a new challenge events calendar to increase our offering to supporters

Provide stewardship & fundraising support to large scale events organised by donors in the community

Be the charity representative & lead for any events organised in partnership with the NHS Trust this includes staff thank you events & the NHS Anniversary events.

Provide excellent cultivation & stewardship to all event participants, implementing sound supporter retention and development plans to increase affinity & maximise engagement, with the aim of increased supporter lifetime value.

Oversee all tasks within the event set up process which includes writing event plans, site/venue management, creating routes, stakeholder management, writing risk assessments, health & safety plans, ordering equipment, booking suppliers

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Significant proven experience leading on and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Significant proven experience of setting up and delivering mass participation events
  • Significant proven experience of managing challenge events
  • Demonstratable experience writing event health and safety plans and risk assessments
  • Proven track record of delivering strong supporter journeys resulting in repeat giving and increased lifetime value
  • Experience in recruiting and managing volunteers
  • Experience of delivering fundraising activities with a calculated and strong ROI
  • Experience of generating compelling cases for support
  • Experience of meeting fundraising targets
Desirable criteria
  • Demonstrable experience managing an event income and expenditure budget
  • Experience of working with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders
  • Experience of managing website and social media content
  • Experience of working across teams to maximise donor engagement
