Why Join Us?

  • Comprehensive Echocardiography Services: Our Echocardiography service operates 7 days a week, offering adult transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) for both routine outpatient and inpatient needs. We also provide consultant-led TOE, exercise, and pharmacological stress echo services.
  • Innovative Clinics: We have recently launched a physiologist-led Herceptin clinic for Oncology patients and are planning to establish a valve clinic in collaboration with Specialist Nurses and Physicians.
  • State-of-the-Art Equipment: All our echo equipment has been recently upgraded, ensuring you work with the latest technology available.
  • Strong Development Program: Our Echo team is deeply involved in staff training, boasting a high success rate for accreditation. We offer robust development opportunities for both physiologists and cardiology registrars.

  • Ideally, perform or be willing to learn IV cannulation and ultrasound contrast IV administration.
  • Organise and deliver theoretical and practical training in cardiac physiology to a wide range of staff.
  • Support and encourage both medical and physiologist staff to work towards professional accreditation (BSE).
  • Participate in our 7-day service, maintaining high standards of clinical practice and acting as a role model for junior staff.

Location Flexibility:

You must be willing to rotate between the Lister Hospital (Stevenage) and QEII (Welwyn Garden City) sites across the East and North Hertfordshire Trust, or remain fully at QEII if preferred for our community diagnostic hub echocardiography service.

Essential Criteria:

  • BSE (or equivalent) accreditation is essential. However, we may consider BSE accreditation trainees for a band 6 post if there are no fully accredited, suitable applicants.

Join us and be part of a team that is committed to excellence in patient care and professional development. Apply today and help us make a difference!
