Job overview

We are recruiting for a Catering Administrative Assistant  who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

You will be a motivated individual, with excellent organisational and administrative skills and good interpersonal skills.

You must be flexible in approach, able to exercise initiative, work independently and demonstrate a consistently high standard of professionalism, being aware of the need for confidentiality and integrity.

The role will include data input, telephone answering, placing of orders with suppliers, menu collation and other clerical work as necessary.

Main duties of the job

The Administrative Assistant will assist in the efficient running of the Catering office, including typing, invoice processing and preparation, data input into the Catering financial system, telephone enquiries and consulting with wards, departments and suppliers as required.

Input and collate information into the weekly trading account

Catering management and subsequent transmission to shared services

Ensure that you receive sufficient and appropriate health and safety training and that you only carry out tasks you have been trained to undertake.

Co-operate with the Trust in maintaining suitable standards of health and safety including adhering to all Trust policies and procedures. Always work in compliance with rules and working practices. Report all unsafe situations, incidents and accidents as appropriate.

Qualifications /Training

Essential criteria
  • GCSE or equivalent in Mathematics and English
Desirable criteria
  • RSA Typing or equivalent
  • ECDL (European Computer Driving License)

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a clerical role
  • Data Entry
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a Catering or hospital environment
  • Experience of a busy office environment

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good Interpersonal skills
  • Able to work to tight time schedules
  • Team Player
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to work under own direction and part of a team

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Familiar and competent with the use of Microsoft Office software
