Job overview

We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse- Outpatients who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistent outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The department is a busy and diverse area with specialties including General Surgery, General Medicine, Neurology and Urology. If you are seeking for a new challenge in your nursing career, this could be the opportunity for you at this time.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Outpatients nursing team, you will have various opportunities in developing your nursing skills and knowledge in the Outpatients Department.

You will become an essential part in providing a high standard of research based patient care.

You will be providing support to the team of staff in delivering a quality service that is linked to high standard of patient care.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of patients attending the Outpatients Department, with the involvement of patients and participation of their relatives / carers. Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing colleagues, the Multidisciplinary Team and other relevant personnel.

Qualifications / Training

Essential criteria
  • Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Evidence of further education, training and on-going learning
  • Ability to produce updated personal professional portfolio
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of Assessing and Mentorship qualification
  • Evidence of appropriate Specialist Qualification

Previous Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience of working in a ward/department care environment
Desirable criteria
  • Currently working in an acute ward environment within the NHS
  • Experience of supporting students/clinical support workers within the NHS

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Good self-awareness
  • Good organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organise workload
  • Flexibility around working hours
