Workforce Information Assistant Apprentice – Band 2 (Full Time - 24 months Fixed Term Contract)
An exciting new opportunity to join the Workforce Information Systems Team within the Trust as a Workforce Information Assistant Apprentice delivering daily, weekly and monthly activities to support all Workforce staff including Nursing and Medical workforce to utilise and maintain the Electronic Staff Record (ESR) System.
Full training on the ESR System will be provided for the appointable candidate, however an interest in working / manipulating data/ using Microsoft Excel would be preferable.
This full time post will be an integral part of the workforce team, providing day to day support for the ESR system and will be based in a busy working office environment and from time to time may require some on-site meetings as appropriate.
Interacting closely with other HR teams, you will need to have a flexible approach to your work, as well as the ability to use your own initiative whilst working efficiently as part of the team.
The Data Technician Apprenticeship is Level 3 and includes numerous modules ranging from “Data mindset in a Digital World” – through to “Data Citizen to Data Specialist” – and covers a wide range of aspects including the importance of data quality.
Internal Support will be provided every step of the way and would ideally suit someone with an analytical mind, who is numerate.
5 GCSE’s (Grade C or equivalent) must include English and Mathematics.

· To assist in the maintenance of the computerised ESR system. Support with the updating of the self-service hierarchy where/when necessary to ensure that Managers have access to their staff member’s data (job /absence/ salary/ personal details etc.)
· To help ensure that the data quality within the systems are accurate and this is maintained at all times using information provided through data quality/cleansing reports – this can be a complex and detailed task where accuracy and diligence are paramount.
· Aid in the extraction of information from the systems
· Produce and circulate timely weekly/monthly quarterly reports to include:
Ø Starters
Ø Leavers
Ø Sickness Absence
Ø Turnover
Ø Master Staff Lists
· Help with the provision of statistical information and present reports/analysis in spread sheet / graphical format.
· To assist and support with System Administration duties for both the ESR and associated systems, e.g. password support.
· To assist the team and provide cover as and when necessary
· Telephone support is required in relation to ESR Self Service users where they require advise on inputting sickness/annual leave – knowledge of Trust policy and the Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions is vital
· To ensure compliance with the data protection act at all times
· To assist and support with the co-ordination of internal training

- 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) (must include English and Mathematics) or equivalent level of experience
- NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Administration or equivalent
- International Certification of Digital Literacy (ICDL)/ ECDL / Level 2 IT qualification or equivalent IT/ computing experience
