Job overview
Working within the dispensary team and with the clinical pharmacy team supporting the initial and ongoing training and development of staff involved with the supply of medication to inpatients on the wards, and to support patient flow through timely processing of discharge medication.
Duties will include but are not limited to: audits, final accuracy checking of medication, dispensing, training and supporting pharmacy staff, quality improvement projects and meeting KPIs.
To be involved in developing and delivering dispensary pharmacy services and training. To be involved in the production and review of new and outstanding Standard Operating Procedures relating to and which include our dispensaries.
Main duties of the job
Provide staff with initial training, support maintenance of skills acquired, be a liaison for colleagues organising training for themselves or on behalf of others.
Coordinate, prioritise and facilitating training of varying size (i.e. departmental/1:1/groups)
Support staff through training to be able to work independently without direct supervision, ensuring clear communication, location, and collating data on role.
To maintain a staff skills matrix for core dispensary staff and dispensary-related competencies.
Promptly assess NVQ L3, L2 or act as Educational Supervisor.
To maintain professional registration and uphold professional standards and lead by example in behaviours and actions.
