Job overview

The Dispensary Assistant Technical Officer carries out general duties within the dispensary team contributing to the pharmacy service to patients of Hampshire Hospitals. Some of these duties include: clear communication with the wider multi-disciplinary team in our hospital,  and ensuring effective prioritisation of urgent medication supplies.

Main duties of the job

Excellent customer service skills, prioritisation skills and accuracy are essential for this fast-paced role. 

Administration support, stock management, supporting workflow.

Training & Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • 3 GCSE’s including Maths, English and Science at grade C or above (or equivalent)

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of using computers, particularly Microsoft Office and web based learning
  • Experience of customer facing role
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience with Wellsky/JAC pharmacy computer system

Skills & Ability

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • High attention to detail / good level of accuracy
  • Ability to follow set procedures
