Job overview

The Head and Neck Department are looking for a highly motivated and organised admin manager, to lead the team at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong managerial skills, and be motivated towards service improvement. To have line management responsibility for the out-patient administrative staff in the Head and Neck Unit Office. To review working practice and systems and make recommendations to ensure efficient and effective delivery of administrative services. To review, and where appropriate, establish and implement administrative processes to ensure compliance with all local and national targets.

Main duties of the job

  • Plan, develop and implement processes to resolve issues in relation to administration, including the identification of incorrect or missing data
  • Review, establish and implement opportunities to improve administrative processes
  • Formulate different options to address administrative issues identified and the development and implementation of new protocols and procedures
  • Participate in, and where appropriate, lead work to modernise administrative service delivery
  • To work autonomously but to be able to seek advice or support should this be required
  • Establish, in conjunction with the Operational Services Manager, a budget for the overall management of the administrative and clerical staff
  • To ensure that financial procedures are followed to ensure the effective management of allocated budgets
