Main duties of the job

UHS Digital are excited to offer the post of Assistant Support Technician. Perfect for someone starting in their IT career or looking to reskill from a different area, this opportunity will allow them to develop their technical and customer service skills.

As part of the EPR Operations team, you will support the electronic patient record digital systems across the Trust by responding to support tickets via our service desk, phone, or by visiting different parts of the hospital. Previous NHS experience would be a bonus, but as long as you've got a good idea of what it means to offer great service and aren't scared of getting into the details, full training for the systems will be provided.

Working for our organisation

As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to.

Specific to this role is the suitability for agile working which is a mixture of on-site and remote working. In addition, we are open to discussing flexibility in the hours that you work. Please talk to us at the interview about the flexibility you need, and we will explore what’s possible for the role and service. This is not a fully remote role. We support the Trust in a variety of ways, including visiting wards or clinic areas to diagnose issues. At least 1 day a week will be required to be at SGH.

UHS employees can access a range of NHS discounts, are entitled to a minimum of 35 days paid holiday (pro rata), and we offer a generous pension scheme.

Southampton is an attractive place to live and work situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct trains to London. The New Forest National Park and beaches of the Jurassic coast are also right on our doorstep. The city offers living costs 20% lower than London and 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.
