We’re thrilled to have an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic, supportive and friendly UHS Digital team as a Delivery Services Analyst specialising in Business Analysis. In this key role, you'll help shape the future of digital services within our Trust.
As part of our Digital Project Management Office (DPMO), you will plan and support the delivery of digital projects, collaborating with clinical, administrative, and technical teams to clearly define user needs and ensure our digital solutions meet these requirements. You’ll oversee business analysis efforts across the DPMO, upholding and enhancing our high standards and processes.
We’re seeking a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The role holder will support the delivery of new digital services across UHS and will be responsible for:
• Business Modelling- Develop models of current (“as is”) and future (“to be”) processes across the hospital to support development of digital services. Analysing and formalising the business requirements in sufficient detail so that digital teams have a full understanding of the scope of requirements, enabling system design to be undertaken.
• User needs- Working across different departments within the hospital (clinical, administrative, technical and patients) to identify and develop user needs for digital services. Ensure that user needs shape the scope of digital projects at the feasibility / business case stage. These user needs will be in the form of user stories, functional and non-functional requirements feeding both internal development projects (user stories) and external system procurement projects (user / system requirements).
• Business process testing - Develop user acceptance testing cases to validate proposed digital solutions against future business processes and user needs. Coordinate cross functional user groups to support this user acceptance testing

Skills and Competencies
Essential criteria
• Experience in service improvement in healthcare
• Understanding of digital system testing and user validation testing (approach to testing, test scripts and documentation)
• Change management; helping staff transition from paper based to digital processes
• User Centred Design for developing new services

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience
Essential criteria
- Degree or post-graduate degree, or equivalent work experience relevant to the post
- Evidence of further professional development
- Knowledge and experience of “discovery” phase for digital projects
- Knowledge and experience of business analysis techniques
- Mapping, development and recording of complex business processes
- Development of written digital / IT system specifications, including data structures and workflows
- Development of user stories to support Agile software development
- Developing and communicating new standards / working practices
Desirable criteria
- A credible knowledge of acute hospital processes, pathways, reporting and organisational structures
- Formal or informal business analysis (ISEB, CBAP or BCS) or project management (PRINCE2, AgilePM etc) training
- Experience of working to different project management approaches (PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, MSP)
- Understanding of digital systems within an acute hospital context (Client server applications, relational databases, digital hardware in a clinical setting)
- Experience in service improvement in healthcare
- User Centred Design for developing new services
- Proficient at MS Visio, Jira suite and Verto
