Job overview

We are looking for Radiographers with a commitment to outstanding patient care and high quality imaging to join our friendly and dynamic team at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.

We have an X-ray equipment replacement programme underway.   This is an excellent opportunity to be  here at the inauguration.

Main duties of the job

You will undertake general, trauma and fluoroscopic radiography examinations following departmental protocols, providing a high standard of imaging.  

We are looking for good communicators with an ability to work both autonomously and in a team; someone with a proactive and flexible approach to provide the best care for our patients across the 24/7 service.

In return we offer opportunity to be part of a friendly, highly motivated and supportive team along with training and development to expand radiography competencies and support career progression.  Training opportunities in CT, MRI, Cardiac Catheter Lab imaging and Interventional Radiology.  

We are a busy Radiology Department who undertake examinations in a number of modalities, across 2 sites. The main facilities are Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital (BNHH) with satellite services at Alton Community Hospital.

Training and qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc or Diploma in Radiography
  • HCPC registration
  • Evidence that knowledge of general imaging is up to date
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in image interpretation

Experience and Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • NHS experience as a radiographer or student radiographer
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge of radiographic procedures including IR(ME)R regulations
  • Computer literate
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in more than one hospital
  • Experience of working with students

Skills and ability

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
Desirable criteria
  • Evidence of knowledge of ALARP, pregnancy and patient care
