Are you looking to develop your Acute medical nursing skills in a well-supported environment?

Whether you have worked in Medicine, Surgery, Critical Care or Orthopaedics this post will enable you to build on the skills you have.

This role will offer the opportunity to be clinically in charge of a shift leading a team and supporting them in delivering high quality care.  You will also be able to use your clinical expertise working in our expanding ambulatory service.  You will be supported by the Clinical Matron and ward sisters.  Development of staff is key to running our service effectively and we will invest our time in developing you.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Enthusiastic and passionate registered Nurses with experience who are eager to develop your own clinical practice, knowledge and skills
  • Staff who are able to (or willing to learn) to act as a role model for colleagues and student nurses within our team
  • Nurses who are able to support the team to ensure that clinical services are delivered to a high standard.
  • Registered Nurses who are able to provide holistic care for patient and their families when they are at their most vulnerable

Training and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
  • Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Management and Leadership, or equivalent eg NVQ 3
  • Teaching and Assessing Qualification or equivalent study or work experience
Desirable criteria
  • Additional Post graduate learning in specialist field including masters degree or working towards

Experience & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD) clearly recorded for professional profile
  • Evidence of significant post registration clinical work experience
  • Experience of staff supervision and mentorship including, employee relations, performance, conduct and training needs analysis
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of project management for policy development or large scale projects

Skills & Ability

Essential criteria
  • Clinical Skills appropriate to the relevant speciality
  • Understanding of effective clinical governance including implications, quality and audit
  • Ability to work and lead within a multidisciplinary team across an organisation
Desirable criteria
  • Customer Service experience i.e. dealing with complaints
  • Highly specialist clinical skills across the relevant speciality
