An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Trauma and Orthopaedic Therapy Department at Basingstoke Hospital for a Band 4 Therapy Practitioner.
We are looking for somebody who will be able to fulfil the following:
- Able to participate in seven day working pattern
- Team player
- To build rapport with patients, relatives and staff members
- To be a dynamic member of the team
- Keen to develop self and others within the department
Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd
- Ensuring therapy referrals are timely and appropriate
- Ensuring patients with complex needs are escalated to qualified therapy staff
- Collating relevant patient specific information
- Carrying out basic assessments
- Delivering therapy interventions and progressing patients with non-complex needs
- Liaising closely with therapists, ward staff, patients, and their families
- Support the ward team in achieving a basic knowledge and level of competence in rehab, through supervision and teaching
- Ordering equipment when indicated
- Participating as a member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with the specified duties, taking responsibility for planning his/her own work duties and caseload.

Training and Qualifications

- Key stage 2 english
- Key stage 2 numeracy
- Evidence of having attained or of working towards a recognised qualification (NVQ 3 level) to enable implementation of prescribed rehabilitation programmes for a range of conditions- eg foundation degree, NVQ relevant competency framework. Or gained through relevant experience.
Experience and Knowledge

- Previous experience working as a band 3 therapy assistant
- Previous experience working within an acute hospital setting

- Orthopaedic experience
- Experience of supervising team members
