Dental Officer Band A

2 sessions per week

This is an excellent opportunity to develop the Dental Service within the largest Prison in the UK in partnership with His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS). 

The establishment takes great pride in its rehabilitative culture and as part of the dental team you will play a crucial role in this.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a talented and organised Band A Dental Officer (*extended competency point). The successful candidate will have proven clinical and leadership competencies, excellent organisational skills and an ability to problem solve multiple issues within a fast-paced custodial context.

You must be registered with the General Dental Council and have a Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing all aspects of general dental care for the residents of HMP Berwyn
  • Working in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Dental Service Specification for HMP Berwyn.
  • Providing a full range of NHS Dental care to the General Population of North Wales at a CDS/GDS clinic

Please note that any offer of employment will be subject to the successful receipt of enhanced DBS and prison vetting clearances.
