We have GP Vacancies our Health Board Practice, West End Medical Centre, in Conwy County;
Westend Medical Centre is situated in Colwyn Bay, with a list size of 18,400 patients. Newly merged from to Practices within the same building, West End Medical Centre is focused on delivering a social model of care and has a multi-Disciplinary team including GPs, Nurses, Physiotherapists and Pharmacists. The practice is also moving towards recruitment of other health care professionals such as Advanced Practice Paramedics and Physicians Associates.
Main duties of the job
In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
In accordance with an agreed practice timetable, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone, video, and email consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, providing advice to other colleagues, and dealing with queries, paperwork, referrals and correspondence in a timely manner.
Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, including undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation, with due reference to best practice and evidence based guidelines.
Screen patients for disease risk factors, early signs of illness and promote public health interventions.
Admit or discharging patients to and from the active caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Collect data for audit purposes.

Its coastal location also means that within minutes you can be in the countryside and heading to the Snowdonia National Park. There are also good road and rail links to Chester, Manchester and Liverpool. This family friendly town is close to a number of great state and independent schools, and the University Health Board has links with the two local Universities in Bangor and Wrexham (Glyndwr University).
