Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The T&O trauma triage coordinator will include the booking of patients to fracture clinic appointments using a referral system from minor injury units and GPs across Gloucestershire.

You will be proactive in managing targets for individual patients and making sure national standards are not breached. You will need to contact patients to arrange appointments within the timescale vetted by our consultants.

This role will involve working closely with our T&O team within the Central Booking office. You will be working from a large patient worklist answering the phones, sending letters and solving patient queries.

Essential criteria

Appropriate experience of working with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical staff.
Experience in dealing with the general public

Desirable criteria

Previous experience of the hospital system (TRAK)
Appropriate previous experience of utilizing a range of interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication ECDL or equivalent.
Appropriate working experience within admissions / booking / patient access or a similar role

Good and effective organisational skills including a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent Prioritization skills
Able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

Good telephone manner
