Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Gloucestershire Mental Health Support Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating support to schools within the Mental Health Support team (MHST) using the ‘Whole-school Approach’ to improve mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people.
The post holder will be required to lead on the development, coordination, to school staff, students, and their parents/carers which support the Early Interventions offer for children and young people in Gloucestershire. Experience of working with children and young people in either health or education setting. Evidence of working independently and autonomously. Experience of multi-agency working and coordinating Multi disciplinary meetings. Experience and understanding of Safeguarding Children and other relevant legislation and policies. Experience of facilitating and delivery of training.
The role will involve direct line management of 1 x band 4 whole school approach practitioner ( this number may increase overtime with service growth).
The post holder will work with the whole school community (teaching professionals, children, parents, volunteers and support staff) to break down stigma of mental health issues, and support children to become more resilient so they are better equipped to understand and manage their emotions and behaviour.

Main duties of the job
· Lead on Whole school approach data, capacity and planning.
· Lead on whole school approach impact evaluation projects.
· Direct liaison with schools around the whole school approach core offer.
· Maintaining and reviewing a range of resources used in the whole school approach.
· Direct responsibility for liaison joint work with the trust Communications team around presentations and YMM promotional literature.
· Organising the regular YMM/YMMChat promotional stands.
· Liaising with YMM clinical team manager around team capacity to deliver whole school approach to schools.
Supervision, teaching and training
· To participate regularly in the agreed systems for supervision.
· To participate annually in the agreed system of appraisal.
· To participate in projects/professional groups as delegated.
· To support students who may be on placements within the team, as required and by agreement.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· To lead on the coordination of the ‘Whole School Approach’ offer around Mental health and wellbeing across MHST schools in Gloucestershire.
· To lead on developing and delivering training packages to school staff, parents and young people.
· Creating and disseminating resources around Mental Health and Wellbeing
· To make accurate observations and recordings, using Rio (electronic patient recording system)
. · To identify and discuss a range of health and social care needs with service users, carers and other professionals and signpost when appropriate.
· To identify realistic and measurable goals /targets around the delivery and effectiveness of the whole school approach offer.
· To provide support and advice to service users, carers, colleagues and other professionals
· To provide other professionals with advice regarding Whole School Approach and Mental Health and wellbeing.
· Be responsible for maintaining and influencing professional standards in relation to government policy, frameworks and Trust directives.
